Data Link Solutions Awarded $478.6 Million Contract for Production of MIDS JTRS Terminals

Data Link Solutions (DLS), a joint venture between BAE Systems and Rockwell Collins, has been awarded a maximum potential $478.6 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) for the production, development and sustainment of Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems (MIDS JTRS) terminals. MIDS JTRS enhances battlefield communications for joint, coalition and international warfighters by providing command with the ability to communicate with forces by voice, video and data links over a line-of-sight, jam-resistant channel across ground, air and naval assets.

China Eastern Airlines selects Rockwell Collins PAVES™ Broadcast IFE and Airshow® for 15 new 737 aircraft

Rockwell Collins’ PAVES™ Broadcast in-flight entertainment (IFE) and Airshow® 3D Moving Map systems will be featured on 15 new Next-Generation Boeing 737 aircraft on lease by China Eastern Airlines. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2015.

Rockwell Collins increases capacity and expands ARINC global network in Europe, the Middle East and Africa

As part of Rockwell Collins’ strategy to grow its global information management footprint, the company announced a series of initiatives that will increase capacity and expand the company’s ARINC global network throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The initiatives, aimed at proactively addressing growing air traffic and more data being generated by modern aircraft, include expanding the number of VHF ground stations, adding VHF Digital Link Mode 2 (VDL Mode 2) frequency capacity in Europe and implementing a proprietary algorithm that will increase network capacity significantly over traditional VHF solutions.

ALAFCO selects Rockwell Collins full suite of avionics as baseline for 85 A320 NEOs

ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company, based in Kuwait, has selected a suite of Rockwell Collins avionics, including MultiScan ThreatTrack™ weather radar and Multi Mode Receiver (MMR), for 85 A320 NEO aircraft.

In addition, ALAFCO is provisioning its A320 NEO fleet for Rockwell Collins’ PAVES™ Overhead Broadcast and PAVES Wireless Content Distribution inflight entertainment system (IFE). Deliveries will begin in 2017.

Rockwell Collins today released its latest e-book titled “Harnessing the Power of Aviation’s Information Age” in conjunction with the Paris Air Show, taking place June 15-21.

The new e-book, which addresses the future opportunities that exist in flight deck systems, inflight entertainment and connectivity solutions (IFEC), networks, airport operations and the global airspace, is authored by industry experts from Rockwell Collins.
